Elena Passed Her Citizenship Test!!!!

Our DIL from Kyle, Texas by way of Kiev, Ukraine passed her USA citizenship test today!!! Way to go, Elena! We are so proud of her. In September she will have her official swearing in ceremony in Austin, which we want to be there for. She had to answer 10 questions and write one sentence. Elena asked us some of the questions she had to study for----she probably knows more about American history than most of us do!

Happy 33rd birthday, Elena! Even if you didn't have any balloons, with the cake and the roses and the Red Lobster meal earlier what a way to celebrate. What a difference 8 years makes! We'll never forget the day Tony brought you to our house to meet us. You were shaking like a leaf in the wind. The only English word you knew was "hello." But the love you felt for our son was spoken very clearly. And now you speak English just as clearly. We love you and thank you for taking good care of Tony and Nikita and Anastasiya!

Happy 8th Anniversary!

On July 1, 2000 Tony & Elena were married at the Anne Hathaway Cottage (wife of William Shakespeare), which is on the grounds of the Globe Theatre in Odessa, Texas. Two kiddos later and a whole lot of miles, they now live in Kyle, Texas. Congratulations you two! We love you.

Here's Elena with her catfish and the butterfly net that she caught it with! This picture was taken on April 29, 2007 at the Exotic Zoo outside of Johnson City. Elena is a fisherman deluxe, even makes fish soup.

Her birthday is October 7! We're so glad she is part of our family. She came half way around the world from Kiev, Ukraine to be with Tony and we're so happy.
